Wales

Wales is the smallest in Great Britain. It lies to the west of England. Wales is a beautiful mountainous country with a lot of lakes. Its climate is mild. Usually snow can only be found in the mountains. Wales is very popular place for spending holidays.

The main occupation of the Welsh people is cattle-breeding and fishing, but South Wales is rich in coal, and coal industry is developed there.

The capital of Wales is Cardiff. It is also a big port.

The ppeople of Wales can speak English, but their national language is Welsh. It is quite different from the English language, and the Welsh people are very proud of it. It is taught at many Welsh schools now.

Wales has been called the Land of Songs because the Welsh people are famous for their good voices. Music festivals take place every year in Wales, and a lot of singers, dancers and musicians from all over the world take part in them.
