ABOUT „HRONAS“

JSC „Hronas“ was established in 1993. The Company started with importing

and installing plastic windows. Early in 1994 the new production equipment

was brought to and window production started in Lithuania. During seven

years of strenuous work the Company has gradually introduced one of the

most state-of-the-art aluminium, plastic and wooden construction production

processes in Europe. Fulfilment of projects, which value exceeds LTL 1mil.,

has become our daily routine. Though we produce in great volumes, we

consider each customer as exceptional and prime.

Striving to mmeet customers’ interests to the best advantage, we have

introduced quality management system corresponding with the requirements of

international ISO 9002 standards. We do our best for the Company,

permanently improving the quality of its products and services, to become a

reliable partner for everybody: the customer, the architect, the designer.

ACTIVITY

Designing, production, sale, installation of windows, doors, facades,

conservatories, interior partitions of wooden, plastic and aluminium

profiles, and warranty service.

VOLUME OF PRODUCTION

In 1999 over 50 thus. m2 of products were manufactured and sold for mmore

than LTL 25 mil.

MULTIPLE GLAZING

Hronas uses companies’ Saint-Gobain and Pilkington float glass for

producing multiple glazing units.

The main criteria determining the choice of the type of multiple glazing

are thermal and sound insulation, light transmission.

Thermal Insulation

Currently, a single-chamber multiple glazing unit having two transparent

panes and featuring heat transmission of 2,8 W/m2 K is the most popular in

Lithuania. A tendency of choosing multiple glazing units with the heat

transmission of 1,1 W/m2 K for both individual houses and blocks of flats

becomes more and more obvious. The multiple glazing units featuring such

low heat transmission consists of an ordinary pane and a pane having soft

elective coating on it. Multiple glazing units with intermediate thermal

characteristics are also available. These are multiple glazing units

consisting of either two panes, one of which has hard selective coating on

it, or three panes. The heat transmission of these multiple glazing units

is 1,8 W/m2 K.

Sound Insulation

The sound insulation of a single-chamber multiple glazing unit having two

4 mm panes is more than 28 dB, while the sound insulation of a double-

chamber multiple glazing unit having three 4 mm panes exceeds 32 dB.

The above values are specified for 4 mm thick glass.

INTERNAL WINDOWSILLS

Internal windowsills can be made of wood, particleboard or all plastic.

Wooden windowsills best match wooden windows. Plastic windowsills are

recommended for rooms with high humidity. It is particleboards, which are

currently the most popular due to their price, appearance and performance.

EXTERNAL WINDOWSILLS

External windowsills made of galvanised steel sheet look habitual in

earlier built houses. External windowsills made of plastic-coated steel

sheet are acquiring growing popularity among those wishing to make their

house look somewhat special. This coating gives windowsills a desired

colour as well as protects them from rusting.

VENTILIATION SYSTEMS

Hronas can offer any desired ventilation system within the range used in

window constructions. Long experience and continual learning from the life

enabled to choose several the most advantageous systems. We regard DUCO

register ventilation systems the most advantageous in terms of price and

quality. Depending on the location and type of premises we can offer

RENSON, SCHÜCO or TITON ventilation systems.

ACCESSORIES

We use SCHÜCO and GRETSCH-UNITAS (GU) accessories for our products. Branded

SCHÜCO accessories have been specially designed to be use for the

manufacture of this window system aand that is why we are using them for PVC

and aluminium products. All the locking parts of accessories are made in

metal. The rubbing parts are made in special plastic alloy which is also

used in machine industry, especially for parts subject to wear and tear.

This makes the SCHÜCO accessories almost maintenance-free.

Besides, these accessories are normally completed with burglarproof parts

and belong to the SFI class of safety. All the SCHÜCO accessories bear

crowns as the company’s trademark.

German GU accessories are used with wooden products and, if wished by a

customer, with PVC products. These accessories are among the best as

regards their constructional properties and variety.

WOODEN PRODUCTS

Wood is one of the oldest building materials used. Influenced by

environmental changes, natural wood may be cracked and deformed.

JSC „HRONAS“ uses three-layer pre-glued squared beams of Karelian pine for

production of windows and doors. Blanks certified according to the German

DIN standards are especially hard and deformation resistant. Larch,

mahogany or oak is available at request.

The main production processes (cutting, milling, gluing, priming and

painting) are automated employing new generation machinery and equipment of

German companies Michael Weinig AG, Leitz, Reinhold Hess. End-item quality

control and grinding of primed surfaces are carried out manually.

Such faultless work performance enables to grant a five years’ guarantee

not

only for constructions, but as well for painted/varnished surfaces.

FRAMES COLORS

Windows are primed, ground, and painted twice with environment-friendly

acrylic paint manufactured by the German company GLASURIT. This is one of

the best paints currently manufactured in Europe. Products may be painted

in all RAL colour palette colours or coated with colourless paint retaining

wood texture.

Glazing beads are fastened with special tools in such a way, that no traces

of hammering and nail heads are left. This pleasant trifle improves the

aesthetic appearance of the product, eespecially if products are coated only

with colourless varnish.

Windows are sealed with special-purpose silicones and two not freezing to

the surface, milled in sealing gaskets. These silicon-based gaskets are

extremely resistant to environmental factors (humidity, frost) and

mechanical impact.

New type frame and leaf water boards of the German company GUTMANN are

fitted for rain water drainage. Their distinctive feature is that they

cover the whole profile instead of a part of it. Water boards are not

fastened with nails or screws, but hung on specially milled recesses.

To eensure top quality and aesthetic appearance, we offer to cover wooden

windows all around with aluminium plates. To implement this solution, the

company uses GUTMANN 4000 system. Aluminium plates as well as the above

mentioned water boards are fastened in such a way aas to prevent damage of

the protective impregnated wood surface. Wood covered with aluminium is

especially suitable for conservatories – natural wood is seen from inside,

the problems of condensate removal from the roof structure inside and

rainwater drainage outside is successfully solved. The exterior is well

protected from hazardous environmental factors.

ALIUMINIUM PRODUCTS

Aluminium is a light, stable, rust-resistant and maintenance-free material.

To produce aluminium products company Hronas uses section systems of the

world leader SCHÜCO.

According to constructional principles company’s SCHÜCO products are

divided into 29 systems. All the systems have subsystems and can be

combined with one another.

It is obvious that staff possessing appropriate skills is needed for all

the aluminium systems to be used correctly as regards construction aand

price. The projects carried out by company Hronas allow to give a customer

a guarantee based not on a word of honour but on everyday experience.

UNFRAMED GLASS STRUCTURES PRODUCTS

Employees and customers of various offices, banks, companies have been

enjoying unframed glass structures for many years. Partitions and doors

made of unframed glass structures heartily invite you to enter, or at least

to take a peep at what is going on behind them. Unframed glass structures

are made of two main components:

1. Toughened glass.

PILKINGTON, SAINT-GOBAIN, EUROGLAS and GLAVERBEL glass is mainly used in

glass structures. Glass may be clear, coloured, enamelled.

The second component of unframed glass structures is fastening accessories

and accessories for opening/closing. This is especially important part of

the structure. Structure reliability and service life will depend on proper

choice of accessories.

CONCLUSIONS

I prepared work about JSC “HRONAS “. This firm make and build

aluminium, plastic and wooden construction production.

JSC „Hronas“ was established in 1993. The Company started with
